Itabashi Chuo General Hospital

The Digestive Disease Center at Itabashi Chuo General Hospital, an acute-care general hospital located in Itabashi Ward, Tokyo, provides care for a wide range of digestive disorders — from diseases of the esophagus, stomach, and colon to hepatobiliary-pancreatic disease. Under a collaborative care system between the Departments of Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Surgery, advanced endoscopic diagnosis and treatment — including ESD and ERCP — are performed as part of routine practice, allowing trainees to acquire practical knowledge and skills through a high volume of cases.

The training program offers observation of actual endoscopic examinations and treatments, along with case conferences and discussions with supervising physicians, providing an environment to systematically learn the Japanese approach to gastroenterology and endoscopic care.
