The Department of Gastroenterology at Japanese Red Cross Omori Hospital, a core regional hospital located in Ota Ward, Tokyo, provides care for a wide range of digestive disorders, from diseases of the esophagus, stomach, and colon to hepatobiliary-pancreatic disease. In addition to general gastroenterology care, the department actively performs advanced endoscopic procedures such as ESD, ERCP, and EUS, serving both community healthcare and specialized medical needs.

The department is also active in education and research, continuously presenting at domestic and international conferences and publishing papers in English. In the field of gastrointestinal endoscopy in particular, it has developed ESD for early-stage gastrointestinal cancer as a key area of focus, while actively welcoming observers and trainees from other institutions. Since 2025, the hospital has been certified as a Clinical Training Hospital, enabling foreign physicians to undertake clinical training under the supervision of qualified instructors. It has also been certified by the Japan Gastroenterological Endoscopy Society (JGES) as an "Overseas Training Acceptance Facility," and continues to actively develop its educational environment for physicians visiting from overseas.
